December 19, 1943, the Kozjanski bataljon, in cooperation with the Croatian Zagorski odred bataljon, attacked the German postojanka Bistrica ob Sotli; during this operation, the commander Janko Skvarča - Modras fell. The following day, in the battle at Preska, the political commissar Jožko Planinc - Kostja also fell. During intense fighting, the units withdrew across the Sotla to the Croatian side. In the new year, the Kozjanski bataljon returned to its area, carried out several smaller actions, and in February 1944 joined the 14th division upon its arrival in Styria.
In memory of the fallen national hero Janko Skvarča - Modras, a plaque was erected on the building near the former postojanka. The bronze relief is the work of Vladimir Štoviček. (Vodnik po partizanskih poteh, 1978, p. 586; Bor1974)
