Cegelnica - Memorial to the Founding of the Kranjska Group

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT: The memorial commemorates a significant event in the history of the Gorenjsko partisans, namely the date of 26.7.1941, when the 1st Kranjska (Kranjska) company was established at Fistrova house on Cegelnica, consisting of locals from Naklo and the nearby area. In addition to seventeen partisans, the unit also had two partizankas, namely Pavlo Mede-Katarina and Rozko Mede-Rezko. Among the organizers was also Gabrijel Mede-Peter from Strahinja. The commander was appointed Franc Mrak from Kokrice, and the political commissar was Stane Toplak from Kranj. The company was then led by Franc Mrak on 2 August 1941 through Udin Boršt to Malo Poljano under Storžič, where the newly established Tržiška company was already encamped. On 4 August 1941, the two mentioned units joined at Verbičevi lovski koči near Storžič, forming the Storžiški bataljon, i.e. the first partisan battalion in Slovenia.
